When will Ed Miliband face facts on wind power, asks Ben Pile. As another key wind farm falls through, leaving his 2030 target in tatters, he must accept that wind power is not getting cheaper; bills are not going down.

It's not 'CSE'. It's child rape, says Joanna Gray. Enough with the sterile acronyms that seem designed to conceal the horror. Enough of the "bewitchment of our intelligence by means of language" (Wittgenstein).

PRESS RELEASE

Left alone to die

19ú May/Bealtaine 2010

Not Now, Not Again. Not another Irish Republican, how soon we’ve forgotten.

29 years ago ten Irish Republican Prisoners of War gave their lives on hunger strike for Political Status, for Ireland. Each was scarified on the altar of British imperialism draped with the Butchers Apron.

The administration in Occupied Ireland (DUP, SDLP and Provisional Sinn Féin) supported by their masters in Westminster are now hoping to freshen their blood soaked apron with another Irish Republican. His name, Liam Hannaway.

Who is he aligned too? Does it really matter? The answer, he is aligned to the continued struggle for Irish Freedom. He is an Irish Republican. He is someone’s Son, Father, Partner, and Friend. He is a Human Being.

Today are YOU going to idly standby and allow this to happen. Surely Not Now, Not Again. Must another Republican Family grieve?

Twenty nine years have since passed when ten young men proudly joined Emmet, Tone, Connolly, Pearse, McCurtain and McSwiney. Not another. Not Now, Not Again.

Liam Hannaway today enters his 36th day on hunger strike at Maghaberry Jail; ignored by the media and denied a voice.

It would appear Liam is in fair spirits but his health is deteriorating rapidly, far faster than expected. He is pale and weak and is having trouble standing. He is determined to see his demands, chiefly to be moved to the Republican landing at Roe house met.

He recently signed an advance medical directive stating that should he fall into a coma or become incapacitated, not to revive him.

It is our understanding that His fiancé Allison was recently asked if she thought the recent elections in the occupied North could be a factor in why Liam's horrific situation has gone virtually unnoticed, along with the continuing crisis to all republican prisoners at Maghaberry jail. "Oh, absolutely", she stated. "These are the men that Adams and Provisional Sinn Fein want to forget".

Not NOW; Not again.

IT IS YOU; it is YOU that needs to give the cause of Liam Hannaway a voice.

On humanitarian grounds OPEN your mouth, Let Britain hear OUR CRY.

Signed on behalf of REPUBLICAN CORK by Séan Ó Murchú
