Suella Braverman is right to plot the end of the human rights regime, says Dr David McGrogan. Much of the current dysfunction of the British state stems from judges usurping Parliament in the name of 'human rights'.

The Death of Maureen Kenny Has Occured

category national | arts and media | opinion/analysis author Saturday March 29, 2008 13:58author by Obit Report this post to the editors

Bookshop is gone awhile

Maureen Kenny Has died, a true lover of education and books, many will
have a memory of the Labyrinthe bookshop, the smell of the books and the
friendly family who ran it.

You could find yourself tripping into Mr Kenny's office and getting a lecture
on dropping out of college, work; and where the bestest poetry books were
kept.

Many of us miss the old shop with the low ceilings and the carpetted stairs
and Maureen always had a smile- did not matter if you were the Laureate
or a small writer, everyone was united by love of knowledge and books.

In the Bookstore

The Bookshop is now a gallery run by Tom, who like both parents is welcoming
and friendly. The books are got through warehouse and web concern, with a few small
(and big bookshops) taking up the slack where Kenny's left off.

Like Charlie Byrnes.

Maureen will be missed and remembered as a lover of knowledge by those of
us who used haunt the bookshop and find little cubbyholes to take the books into.

RIP.
