Last night's violence in Epping is the desperate cry of people who have been ignored for decades, says David Shipley. Violence must be condemned. But if the state doesn?t change course, and fast, we will see many Eppings.

From vaccine passports in 2021 to 'Britcard' digital ID in 2025, it's becoming clear we need a Digital Bill of Rights to protect us from being brought under the technocratic grip of a surveillance state, says Alan Miller.

Why is the modern world so unremittingly ugly, wonders Joanna Gray. As yet another interchangeable block of beige bricks springs up in town, the contrast with the glories of the structures our ancestors built is damning.

Bundoran town council planning corruption

Bundoran has the most scenic views of the Donegal Bay, Dartry Mountains of Leitrim and a coastline accessible to everyone. We preserved our old historical buildings and respected our community atmosphere.

In the last twelve years Bundoran Town Council has allowed Planning Corruption erode the very HEART of Bundoran and now the greedy developers and certain Corrupt Councillors want to destroy our Foreshore not or enhancement but to built apartment blocks on the most beautiful coastline in Ireland. In the last twelve years the population of Bundoran has decreased now these greedy developers want to destroy Bundorans Sealife.

Twelve years ago, a curse was put on Bundoran in the form of Section 23 Government incentives to developers, Bundoran`s population has decreased, Record of Protected Structures are illegally demolished and Ghost estates have sprung up all over the town.

Now these developers with the help of Bundoran Town Councillors and some planning individuals from Donegal County Council are moving to destroy our FORESHORE and coastline. Currently Bundoran Town Council allowed developer Damien Connolly Contracts demolish two Records of Protected Structures and then build illegally out n the Foreshore. This same developer has developed apartments and holiday homes throughout Bundoran and has destroyed the community spirit of the town, now his focus is to destroy the Sealife of Bundorans Foreshore.

The Council and County Council are turning a blind eye to Planning Corruption ref Bundoran Town Council files 07/10049 & 07/10053 and 08/10002 I have the first two Appealed to An Bord Pleanala and I have just been informed that the Applicant Damien Connolly has withdrawn the lanning applications, therefore Mr. Connolly is ADVERTISING APARTMENTS FOR SALE WITHOUT ANY PLANNING PERMISSION, Let the buyer beware as some of the Edenbay Apartments facing the Sea have NO Planning Permission.

Only now is the developer Damien Connolly seeking a Foreshore Licence. Luckily, Mr. Connolly will call on his good friend Minister Mary Coughlan to now grant him a Foreshore Licence. Minister Coughlan officially opened Damien Connollys Retail Park in Bundoran on the 21st July 2007, when she also viewed a show apartment of Mr. Connollys current apartment block. Objections have been submitted against granting the Foreshore Licence with closing date the 28th March 2008. We just have to wait and see!!
