A Reminder

category international | crime and justice | opinion/analysis author Monday April 09, 2007 13:59author by Missing Report this post to the editors

it is now 14 years since Annie Mc Carrick went missing

There are over one hundred women missing in Ireland.

They are presumed dead.

It is fourteen years since Annie Mc Carrick Vanished.

There is no longer an operational website for families of vanished children,
parents, sisters and brothers, to use.

Last week families of the missing women joined together to make protest.

Some families retrieved bodies ,and it was evident that their daughters
had died violently.

The family members of Sophie Toscan du Plantier were photographed weeping
outside one of the victim's houses.

They are elderly and French.

Our Justice system has failed them, because every year they make pilgrimage
to the site of Sophi'es death in West Cork and renew their appeal for information.

There is no missing person's website.

DCC was going to ban postering in Dublin which provided crucial early
information to people who have lost family members- a last minute
witness account of a loved one.

There is an inadequate liasion service for families of victims
of violence that is attributable to the Dept of Justice who have
through those fourteen years not prioritised the families of victims.

The survivors are angry because they have no body to bury, no justice,
no information, no death certificate, no grave.

RIP.

We have created international ill-will and embarassment due to the
investigation of the the Murder of Sophie. who was named by her parents
and who still campaign for their right to know about the death of their child.

The original crime scene was tampered with and the garda on duty
let someone onto the premises whilst it was suppoused to be kept
forensically clean.

Sophie- unsoved murder, causes terrible relations with France.
