Jump To Comment: 1Máiread Corrigan Maguire says "We must never forget the tremendous death and suffering caused to the Japanese people, when the United States dropped the first atom bombs on the Japanese Cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. To this day, the United States, has never apologized for these two barbaric acts of murder. Unless Governments and people say they are 'sorry' when the do wrong, they are in danger of repeating their crimes against humanity. We face such danger in our world today, with the increasing arms race, of nuclear and conventional weapons, being lead by the American administration, and followed by so many countries around the World. By praying, fasting, and carrying out nonviolent action against war, nuclearism and militarism, we, the human family, can begin to replace our present 'cultures of violence' with 'cultures of peace and nonviolence’".
Máiread: "Please accept my endorsement of the Cork Public Fast 6-9 August on the 60th Anniversary of Hiroshima Nagasaki Bombings."
