category national | animal rights | event notice author Thursday March 15, 2012 14:30author by Veganator - Trinity College Animal Rights Group Report this post to the editors

Three People, Six Weeks, One Challenge

Three dedicated meat eaters live vegan for six weeks. Will they die!? Will they transform into militant animal activists!?

Part sociological experiment and part adventure comedy, Vegucated is an award-winning, guerrilla-style documentary that follows three meat- and cheese-loving New Yorkers who agree to adopt a vegan diet for six weeks.

Lured by tales of weight lost and health regained, they begin to uncover the hidden sides of animal agriculture and soon find themselves risking everything to expose an industry they supported just weeks before. But can their convictions carry them through when times get tough?

A friend saw this in the USA and says it is a great film and was especially impressed by the people breaking into a farm to 'look for themselves' at the state of the animals trapped there.

Yes, saw the movie last week and I found it quite interesting and easy to watch... Thought the six week challange was a great idea to show how easy is to switch to a vegan diet and the positive implications on every level, starting with respecting other lives, to the environment and to their health which improved significantly. I also liked the fact that you can go onto the website www.getvegucated.com and follow how Brian, Tesla and Ellen are now doing...

I think it's better to confirm your attendance on facebook so that organizers have an idea as to how many people to expect...
Even though I've already seen it I'm going again with some friends 'cause I really wanna hear the speakers...

I am looking forward to seeing the film. Some of my friends are going to come along too. Having seen the very uplifting effects that being vegan has had on me they are interested in exploring further.

Dont you think vegan is too extreme? Ireland isnt ready for vegan, we are a dairy country. Why didnt they get meat eaters to go vegetarian for 6 weeks and then Irish people will not be scared off!!

Hi Mother Hen,
do you think being vegan is too extreme? To be honest I don't... I think it's a philosophy that respect each and every sentient being. I've been vegan for nearly two years now, best decision I ever made in my entire life. Haven't met one single person that has regretted going vegan

Same here guys,
Went vegan over 2 years ago. Love the diet. Feel great. So happy my diet does not harm animals. All dairy cows are eventually slaughtered for meat, usually after only a few years of life, when their true lifespan is around 25 years.
Fantastic array of tasty vegan versions of meat and dairy products now widely available in health and wholefood shops.

I am gutted I wont see this showing. I havent seen it yet but I have heard that it's turning carnivores so that's all good in my book.
I've been vegan for about 16 months now and I have to say I love it.
